Drop The Hand

‘Drop the Hand’ is set amongst the Irish community of Reading, England, in 1989. It’s a boozy, bawdy tale of love and loyalty against the backdrop of rain sodden building sites and seedy boarding houses. Young couple Stephen & Katriona have to deal with political fallout, workplace accidents and an indecent proposal from their excitable landlord.

Winner of the audience award at the This is England Film Festival in Rouen, France, Drop the Hand features a fabulous, eclectic cast, including Donal Gallery & Edward Dogliani (Game of Thrones), Martin Condon, Donna Preston, Lauren Cardiff, Elis James and – making his acting debut – Tommy Blaize, lead singer with the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing house band.
